This week mother nature was finally kind to us for enduring all of her almost-freezing days with two whole snow days! I brought along Daniel and took some night snow photographs.
I used a tripod for every shot so that I could set my iso for as low as it would go and have longer exposures. The exposures were all around 15 seconds long.
It was miserably cold, but when I take pictures I'm usually so determined that the cold doesn't register till it gets physically hard for me to control my glove-less fingers... I really should invest in a good pair that I use my camera in.
I was able to explore my fascination with the interaction of light between streetlights and trees. They looked especially awesome because the snow and ice reflected the hue of the streetlights.
I took the images in raw so that I cold have more flexibility for editing them. Raw helped most in this situation with giving more flexibility for adjusting white balance since the streetlights all had different hues.
All this would have been lonely and miserable without my pack mule Daniel Stevenson.
